What is Fire Rated Glass?
Fire-rated glass refers to glazing that employs the latest technology to prevent glass breakage when exposed to high heat, such as in a fire. Keeping a glass surface intact protects building or room occupants not only from fire but smoke that may accompany the fire. A newer, safer version of wired glass exists, as do other glazing alternatives that are clear and wire free. The actual fire ratings assigned to the glass refer to the length of time the glass can be exposed to heat before it fails. Ratings can be measured in minutes or hours.
El CLass
Class EI (Integrity & Insulation) is considered as the highest performance classification level for fire compartmentalization. In addition to the integrity performance assessment, it measures the ability of construction products, such as fire resistant glass, to limit heat transfer during a fire so that neither the unexposed surface nor any material near that surface is ignited. Class EI glass also provides a strong barrier to heat for people near to it. EI-classified fire-resistant glass from Vetrotech compartmentalizes buildings and prevents the spread of fire to ensure safe evacuation of occupants, access by emergency services or create areas of refuge.

EW CLass

Glass panes of door can be exchanged by SGG DIAMANT® glass upon request to make use of its advantages, namely its perfect clarity, improved colour rendering and more natural light. LUNAX® can be manufactured with individual (RAL) colours for fittings, handles and customized handle shapes. Its glass can be adapted by application of silk screen printing on the surface or an edge frit. Decorative films in any design and colour can also be applied on the glass door leaf after installation without any technical restrictions.
In addition to fire resisting LUNAX® door, a non-fire-resisting version with same accessories and sizes available for fire resisting LUNAX®, can also be realized. As a result, all glass doors with and without fire protection in a specific project can have the same look.
